Vladimir Putin to Meet with Heads of Leading BRICS Media

Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with the heads of leading media outlets from the BRICS countries ahead of the summit of the association. The event will take place on Friday, October 18, in Moscow.

As specified in the Kremlin, Russia will be represented at the meeting by Dmitry Kiselev, CEO of the Russia Today media group.

The BRICS summit will be held in Kazan from October 22 to 24. According to the city’s mayor Ilsur Metshin, the summit will bring together the heads of more than 30 states and international organizations, including UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. The mayor noted that in the history of the association, “there have never been such a large-scale event.”

Since January 1, 2024, BRICS includes 10 countries: Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Iran, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Ethiopia. This year, the chairmanship of the association passed to the Russian Federation. The last time our country chaired BRICS was four years ago.
