Chairman of the International Affairs Committee Leonid Slutsky received the Indonesian parliamentary delegation headed by the head of the Interparliamentary Cooperation Committee of the People’s Representative Council of the Republic Mardani Ali Sera.
The focus was on discussing the development of bilateral cooperation and interaction on international platforms. In particular, they discussed strengthening coordination within BRICS. “Any association goes through the processes of forming its parliamentary dimension,” Leonid Slutsky emphasized.
L. Slutsky proposed taking parliamentary cooperation with Jakarta to a “new orbit” and introducing the practice of holding joint meetings of foreign policy committees in person or online. “One of the points of such a meeting could be the issue of developing the parliamentary component within BRICS,” he said.
Mardani Ali Sera, for his part, said that he welcomes the idea of joint meetings and is ready to facilitate their holding.
