Leonid Slutsky discussed the situation around Iran with ambassadors of the Arab League countries

Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, met with ambassadors of the Arab League (LAS) at the Qatari Embassy in Moscow. During the meeting, the diplomats discussed in detail the situation surrounding Iran in the context of the escalation in the Persian Gulf, paths to resolution, and Russia’s role in normalization processes in the region.

“I assured the representatives of the Arab League diplomatic corps of my readiness to provide all necessary assistance, including through parliamentary diplomacy. The primary objective is to minimize the risk of further escalation in the region. And, of course, it is necessary to strengthen Russia’s interaction with the League states by expanding existing formats and creating new ones, such as, for example, the Russia-Arab World Interparliamentary Conference,” Leonid Slutsky said.

The committee chairman emphasized that cooperation with the Arab League is important and significant.

“Especially in the context of the transformation of global politics and the system of international relations. And what this system will be like tomorrow depends on our countries,” Leonid Slutsky added.
