Shamsail Saraliev received the delegation of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Thailand in the State Duma

The State Duma hosted a meeting between the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Coordinator of the Deputy Group for Relations with the Parliament of Thailand Shamsail Saraliev and the delegation of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Thailand headed by Senator, Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the Friendship Group with the Russian Federation in the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Thailand Ms. Prathim Wongsawatdee.

The parties discussed issues of inter-parliamentary cooperation, as well as the potential for interaction between Russia and Thailand in the political and economic spheres. At the same time, issues of nuclear energy, space, agriculture, information technology and artificial intelligence were touched upon.

Shamsail Saraliev proposed creating sister cities in Russia and Thailand. “Permanent friendly ties are established between such cities for mutual familiarization with life, history and culture, mutual exchange of experience in many areas,” the deputy explained.

An important topic for discussion, according to him, was the issue raised by the Thai delegation about “the need to study the Russian language in Thai schools, the creation of Russian Centers for the Study of the Russian Language in Thailand and Thai Centers in Russia.” “Strong diplomatic relations have been established between Russia and Thailand, which were built and developed on the principles of mutual respect. In January of this year, Thailand joined BRICS as a partner country, which, of course, opens up significant opportunities for strengthening economic ties with the members of the association and expands the opportunities for our countries to participate in the creation of a new world order,” Shamsail Saraliev concluded.
