The Committee on Foreign Affairs recommended ratification of the Russian-Chinese Protocol on visa exemptions for road transport

The International Affairs Committee recommended ratifying the Protocol on Amendments to the Russian-Chinese Intergovernmental Agreement on Facilitating Travel for Citizens at a meeting today. The issue was proposed to be submitted for consideration to the State Duma meeting on March 25.

The Protocol, signed on August 21, 2024 in Moscow, regulates issues of simplifying the visa regime for professional drivers in road transport. It is proposed to allow Russian citizens to obtain a multiple-entry Chinese visa for one year, regardless of their place of residence. The duration of each stay should not exceed 30 days.

Previously, according to the agreement, the simplified visa procedure was available only to drivers, members of transport crews, forwarders and translators living in regions directly bordering the PRC.
