The Foreign Affairs Committee recommended ratifying the agreement with Algeria on peaceful space, as well as the Russian-Indian loan agreements

The State Duma Committee recommended ratifying the agreement between the Governments of the Russian Federation and the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria on cooperation in the exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes. It was proposed to submit the issue for consideration at the plenary session of the chamber on November 27.

The agreement was signed on June 15, 2023 in Moscow in order to create an organizational and legal basis for the implementation of mutually beneficial Russian-Algerian cooperation in peaceful space. In particular, in such areas as satellite navigation, space communications, satellite television and radio broadcasting and the use of related information technologies and services, training and retraining of specialists in the interests of the Algerian Party, space science and space exploration, astrophysical research and planetary study, remote sensing of the Earth from space, space materials science, space medicine and biology, space geodesy and meteorology, the provision and use of spacecraft launch services, as well as manned space flights.

The agreement includes provisions on the protection of intellectual property and also defines the procedure for customs regulation.

At the same time, the International Affairs Committee recommended ratifying Russian-Indian international treaties to credit agreements. The draft law was proposed to be considered at a meeting of the State Duma on November 26.
