The State Duma Committee on International Affairs held a new – already fifth – round of contacts with a group of MEPs led by Fernand Kartheiser

The crisis in Russia-EU relations was discussed via videoconference, as well as aspects of the Ukrainian settlement, including the threat to global security posed by the revealed plans of Paris and London to supply nuclear weapons components to Kyiv. Representatives of the European Parliament expressed serious concern about the possibility of the conflict escalating into a nuclear war and escalating into World War III. In this regard, they are taking a far more robust position than the ruling circles of France, Great Britain, or Germany.

Again, I cannot reveal the names of all the European participants. These are courageous politicians who defend the interests of their countries and speak frankly about the harm Russophobia causes, especially for Europe itself. I will only say that their number is growing every time, despite pressure and discriminatory measures from Brussels bureaucrats.

Russia has always advocated for equal and constructive dialogue. The unfreezing of contacts between members of parliament and MEPs, their systematic and regularization, allows us to convey the truth about our position to the European public. The breakthrough in the anti-Russian blockade is steadily expanding.
