Crimea concluded inter-parliamentary agreements with Donetsk and Lugansk

The agreement on cooperation between the parliaments was signed by the Republic of Crimea and the unrecognized Donetsk and Lugansk republics, RIA Novosti reports. The solemn ceremony was held in the capital of the peninsula, where guests arrived from the Donbass. She was timed to the anniversary of Pereyaslav Rada. 365 years have passed since its conclusion.

The document was signed by the head of the Crimean parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov, and the chairmen of the people’s councils of the DPR and the LPR, Vladimir Bidenyov and Denis Miroshnichenko.

According to Denis Pushilin, who heads the Donetsk People’s Republic, the inter-parliamentary agreement can be considered an extremely important milestone in the relationship between the Donbas and the Crimea, as well as the whole of Russia as a whole. He called it a precedent, which may be followed by other regions of Russia.

The signing of the agreements is a very important symbol, said Andrei Kozenko, member of the lower house of the Russian parliament. He once again noted that the Crimea was the first subject of the Russian Federation to conclude an inter-parliamentary agreement with Donetsk and Lugansk. “This is a historical document,” explained the parliamentarian.

In addition, agreements will be signed on twinning relations between Yalta and Lugansk and between Kerch and Makeyevka.

The deputy stressed that all events are organized by the integration committee “Russia – Donbass”. The activity of this public structure is aimed at developing the integration process of Donbass and Russia in the social, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.
