On October 2, the Russian Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting between Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Chairman of the Shura Council of the Sultanate of Oman Khalid Al Maawali, who is on an official visit to Moscow.
During the detailed conversation, the officials praised the advanced state of the traditionally friendly Russian-Omani relations, and reaffirmed Moscow and Muscat’s intention to further deepen the political dialogue and build up trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
Mutual interest in continuing foreign political cooperation was also highlighted, in order to promptly settle acute regional and international crises exclusively via political and diplomatic means, taking into account the legitimate interests of the parties involved and in accordance with the fundamental provisions of the UN Charter.
