On October 31, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Türkiye Mevlut Cavusoglu.
The ministers discussed the situation around the October 29 Ukrainian terrorist attack against the warships and civilian vessels in Sevastopol. During the conversation, Sergey Lavrov noted the need to obtain Ukrainian guarantees on the non-involvement of the humanitarian corridor and Ukrainian ports used for the exports of agricultural products, in the hostilities against the Russian Federation. It will be possible to discuss resuming operations via the security corridor, mapped by the Black Sea Initiative, only if these conditions are met.
Moreover, the parties agreed that the UN and Western countries have to take additional action to implement the package deal with respect to Russian fertilisers and agricultural products.
The ministers also discussed efforts to facilitate stability in the South Caucasus.
