There is no excuse to the glorification of the Estonian Waffen-SS legion criminals, Russian diplomatic mission in Estonia declares. Russian embassy accused holding the meeting of Estonian Waffen-SS division’s veterans which took place in Sinimae, North-East of the country, as reported on the Facebook of the diplomatic mission.
Gatherings of SS soldiers’ worshipers on the Estonian territory have already become a grim tradition, Russian diplomats admit, considering the glorification of accomplices to the fascist crimes to be the actual sacrilege.
The fact that representatives of the younger generation join the veterans of the SS divisions is especially alarming. Thus, the propaganda of praising the criminals, who took the lives of millions innocent people, including the victims of the camps on the Estonian territory, actively takes place.
According to the Russian embassy message, it is a great pity that the official Tallinn refused to make exclamations accusing these gatherings. By this, the ruthless determination to falsify the history and whitewash Nazi criminals continues to develop.
The embassy staff underlines, that the shameful action took place the same year the celebration of the 75th anniversary of Estonian liberation was held, which is a great opportunity to honor the memory of the true heroes who had to pay with their own lives for the freedom of the peoples of the World.
To the official Tallinn it is forbidden to forget about the decisions taken by the Nuremberg tribunal and the Council of the European Union, the Russian diplomats claim. The Estonian authorities were as well reminded of the necessity of honoring the people who fell victims of the Nazism and counteracting open glorification of Nazi criminals on the Estonian territory.
As reported by “Russkiy Mir”, praising the accomplices of Nazi soldiers appears to be usual practice in Estonia. Earlier in one of the Estonian school, the statue of the Waffen SS-Oberscharfuhrer Harald Nugiseks was established.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation declared this event connected to the 95th birthday of the Nazi military officer accompanied by the school ceremonies to be a shameful incident. Later, there in Estonia a memorable symbol has appeared in the honor of the Waffen SS-Standarten fuhrer Alfons Rebane.
