The International Affairs Committee, together with the CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, and Control Committees, held an extended meeting with the participation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The discussion was held in a closed format ahead of the “Government Hour” that will be held in the State Duma on February 19.
They “synchronized watches” on all current issues on the international agenda in the context of Russia’s foreign policy priorities. The issues of Russian-American relations, the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, the formation of the Eurasian security architecture, interaction with BRICS partners and with the countries of the Global Majority, strengthening the international legal framework with the understanding that there is no alternative to the UN Charter, and the development of parliamentary diplomacy were discussed separately.
It was a frank conversation on the most difficult topics.
