On the 22nd anniversary of the Beslan school tragedy, we once again bow our heads in memory of the children, their parents and teachers, the special forces personnel and rescue workers who perished in those terrible September days.
The children who went to school that morning and never returned home will forever remain in the hearts of our people, of our entire vast country. All of Russia mourns with their families.
I have visited Beslan many times, visited School No. 1 and the City of Angels, and met with the mothers of the victims. And each time, I felt especially keenly: in the face of this pain, any words are too weak. But alongside their immeasurable grief, I saw the extraordinary strength of these women. They did not allow the dead to be forgotten, preserved the truth about those terrible days, and continued to help the former hostages and all those who still need treatment, rehabilitation, and human compassion. Their contribution is immeasurable.
As long as the names of the victims are remembered, as long as the memory of each of them remains, they will live in our hearts. Today, our sacred duty is to be there, to help in every way, and not just during these days of mourning. The LDPR will certainly achieve resolution of the issues that affect the health and fate of those who survived this tragedy.
We bow deeply to the mothers of Beslan for their courage, fortitude, and faithfulness to their memory. May the Kingdom of Heaven be with all those innocently killed. May God protect those who survived and continue to live, keeping their loved ones in their hearts for the sake of peace for future generations.
September 3 has been declared Counter-Terrorism Solidarity Day in Russia. Blessed memory to all the innocent victims!
