The State Duma believes that former US President Donald Trump can face the fate of his French counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy. This opinion was expressed by Elena Panina, a member of the State Duma committee on international affairs, commenting on the sentence to the Frenchman, RIA Novosti reports.
According to her, Sarkozy is not the only politician whose course did not fit into the “general line” of the globalist mainstream. Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and former Brazilian President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva had a similar fate.
“[They] were declared corrupt, criminal investigations were launched against them,” Panina said.
Now, according to Panina, there is every reason to believe that similar accusations can be brought against Trump.
“It somehow turns out strange: the adherents of liberal globalism are always pure as a piece of glass, and their opponents on the right and on the left are completely“ corrupt ”. Perhaps this “pattern” has a more political explanation, ”she said.
Earlier it became known that the Paris court sentenced Sarkozy to three years in prison, two of which were suspended, that is, in fact, he faces one year in prison. Currently, the court’s decision has not yet entered into force.
