Elena Panina appreciated Britain’s plans to expand its presence in the Black Sea

The decision of Great Britain to become more active in the Black and Baltic Seas suggests that London is preparing not for defense, but for expansion, in fact, this can be compared to an attempt to pursue a neo-colonial policy, Elena Panina, a member of the International Affairs Committee, told RIA Novosti.

Britain intends to intensify its activities in the Black Sea and the Baltic, according to the strategy for the modernization of the United Kingdom’s armed forces, published on Monday by the country’s defense ministry.

“In reality, London is preparing not for defense, but for expansion. After Britain left the EU, British foreign policy and military strategy became much more aggressive than before. In fact, we see an attempt to revive the imperial military power, to pursue a neo-colonial policy as in historical zones British claims, so in a “new place”, for example, in the Arctic, including within the Northern Sea Route, “said Panina.

The parliamentarian suggested that “the globalist financial circles have assigned Britain the role of a militaristic battering ram of the Western bloc.”

“However, against the background of the largest drop in British GDP in several centuries, such plans do not look very adequate. No matter how the British lion overstrains,” Panina stated.
