In the latest edition of the program “Own Truth” on the NTV channel, the prospects for the negotiation process to resolve the situation in Ukraine were discussed. The program was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Dmitry Novikov.
Program host Roman Babayan asked about the advisability of negotiating with Ukraine, because official Kyiv clearly does not want a meaningful discussion of Russian initiatives. Answering, Dmitry Novikov stated that today S.V. In general, it is much more difficult for Lavrov to discuss problems with “Western partners” than it was during the time of A.A. Gromyko. When the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the USSR explained the position of our country, the Western partners immediately understood everything. Commenting on the results of the talks between Lavrov and Kuleba in Turkey, on the sidelines of a diplomatic forum in Antalya, Novikov drew attention to the need to directly convey to the Ukrainian side Russia’s position on the prospects for a settlement: “If Kuleba, who is formally responsible for Ukrainian diplomacy, did not understand something or did not heard, then this was what he had to explain in the course of a personal meeting. And as soon as Turkey wanted to take part in peacekeeping, Russia showed respect for her initiative. Indeed, why not use the platform of the forum to explain the goals of our peacekeeping operation? After all, then both Turkey and Ukraine have the opportunity to hear about it firsthand. Thus, an element of explanatory work, “diplomatic educational program” on the part of Lavrov took place at the negotiations in Antalya.
According to Dmitry Novikov, the topic of humanitarian corridors was not the main one during the talks between the Foreign Ministers of Russia and Ukraine in Turkey. To discuss the opening of humanitarian corridors, a different format is used, which began to work earlier – in Belarus. But what happened in Antalya had a qualitatively different content. There, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry spoke about the most important thing: about the reasons for the start of a special military operation, about its goals and intended results, and about its lack of alternative.
Analyzing Russian proposals to the leadership of Ukraine, Dmitry Novikov said that Kyiv no longer had time for “thinking” and “playing negotiations”: “I should have thought much earlier. Now we need to start acting, making concrete decisions in line with the implementation of Russian proposals. Unfortunately, we do not yet see a willingness to negotiate.”
The incompetence and political irresponsibility of the Ukrainian authorities has an explanation. Against the backdrop of an armed conflict, representatives of the Kiev elite are trying to resolve their personal, purely mercantile issues. Zelensky and his team came to politics from business. In a short time they turned their political status into a source of enrichment. These figures are not interested in a diplomatic settlement, in the speedy end of the conflict, because it contributes to their personal enrichment. “In the conditions of chaos, they have even more opportunities, because these people control the budget of Ukraine, receive Western assistance, have access to taxpayers’ funds. Who are they answering to now? Every day, while blood is shed, turns into hard cash for the Ukrainian authorities,” Dmitry Novikov said.
In the final part of the program, the topic of American biological laboratories was touched upon. “For the sake of fairness, it should be said that the US secret biolaboratories are known not only on the territory of Ukraine or Kazakhstan,” said Dmitry Novikov. – The Pentagon has a practice of placing such facilities in the United States itself. At the same time, neither international organizations nor the American public had access to it. In August 2019, the laboratory located in Fort Detrick was hastily closed. This happened after a series of scandals related to the facts of mass diseases of American citizens.
But why didn’t the US government shut down the facility at Fort Detrick and shut down biolabs in other countries? Russia, China and other countries are eager to get an answer to this and other questions about the biological research of Americans for military purposes. To obtain this information, the State Duma of Russia officially adopted a special appeal to the United Nations.
