The latest attacks by Ukrainian drones on the Crimea were carried out from Odessa, said State Duma deputy from Sevastopol Dmitry Belik, whose words are reported by RIA Novosti.
He recalled that since the beginning of the year, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already attacked the Russian peninsula several times with drones, and all of them have been shot down. The last massive attack took place on 16 January. Then the air defense system repulsed 11 drones.
“Odessa has become a springboard for attacks by Ukrainian drones on the territory of the peninsula, but they failed to step over the Crimean air defense line. Even massive attacks are being repulsed today,” the parliamentarian said.
According to him, Russian air defense shows not only a high level, but also adaptability to modern conditions of hostilities: to massive attacks of inconspicuous, low-speed and hard-to-detect targets
He stressed that Crimea has always been a special military region for Russia, where a reliable line of defense is being built.
Earlier it became known that Ukraine used drones manufactured by the American company SpektreWorks to attack the Crimea, Sevastopol, Kursk, Belgorod and Voronezh regions.
The situation escalated after Vladimir Putin announced on the night of February 24 that he had decided to conduct a special operation in the Donbass. At the same time, he stressed that the plans of the Russian authorities do not include the occupation of the territories of Ukraine.
The heads of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics Denis Pushilin and Leonid Pasechnik asked the President of the Russian Federation to help repel aggression from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
