Deputy Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, Dmitry Novikov took part in the program “Time will tell”. On the air of Channel One, topical issues of world politics related to the course of the special military operation in Ukraine were discussed.
Over the past few days, representatives of Ukraine and the West have been noted for a number of statements about Russia and that Moscow is actively developing its nuclear potential. According to them, in the very near future the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will begin more active operations against the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These statements are widely replicated in the media, giving rise to an increase in anxiety in Western society. For what purpose is this being done? Why is the situation being escalated? The presenter of the program Anatoly Kuzichev asked Dmitry Novikov about this.
Answering the questions of the presenter, the deputy chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation emphasized that there is a lot of truth in the statements of Russia’s opponents: “Yes, we really support our nuclear potential. How else? We’re going to defend our sovereignty! Therefore, we will continue to try to maintain in order what ensures our security. Is Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, right when he says that Russia is preparing for attacks in Ukraine? Yes, getting ready! From the very beginning, it was stated that the special military operation has goals, and we will go to achieve them – to ensure that Ukraine is demilitarized, denazified and, I would add, de-occupied. All this is completely true. We will act in this way. But this does not mean that there are plans to necessarily coincide with the first anniversary of the start of the special operation or February 23 – the Day of the Soviet Army and Navy. Russia will be ready to step up action when the situation is most appropriate. Everything will be taken into account, including weather conditions.
Dmitry Novikov specifically touched upon the issue of mobilizing resources in the name of victory. Commenting on current events, he said that Russia is concentrating at all levels: “These days have been tense in the State Duma. The leaders of the Duma factions have just met with the President of Russia and are now actively sharing the results of their conversations with their colleagues. This included a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Gennady Zyuganov, where the president congratulated the Communist Party of the Russian Federation on the 30th anniversary of the restoration of the party. He stressed that the Communist Party has always firmly and confidently defended the interests and sovereignty of the country. Here we can recall that it was we who, together with the residents of the Ulyanovsk region, did not allow the creation of a NATO facility there at the time. And he, according to the existing plan, was to become a “jump base” for American troops in Afghanistan. And the list of active actions of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation can be continued.
On February 15, Sergey Lavrov made a report on the work of the Foreign Ministry in the State Duma. According to Dmitry Novikov, an important and interesting conversation took place within the walls of the parliament. The 16th of February was also a busy day. The First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs emphasized: “Today the State Duma resolved a number of procedural issues on Russia’s withdrawal from the agreements concluded at various stages with the European Union. Now we are eliminating those external dependencies that have not brought anything good to our country.”
At present, Russia is not only solving the tasks of a special military operation in Ukraine, but is also preparing for a long confrontation with the West, a representative of the Communist Party believes: “We did not make this choice. And it’s not about the specific thinking of the President of Russia, as they say in the West. In our country, the whole country is well aware that the challenge has been thrown seriously and for a long time. And we do not intend to lose – even though we know our weaknesses. Yes, Russia’s economic potential is not so great compared to the potential of the West as a whole. Yes, our Armed Forces are not as large as the armed forces of the collective West. But we will look for other ways to answer the challenge. Among other things, we will strengthen allied relations with the absolute majority of the states of the world, which are not satisfied with the dictates of one empire in the 21st century.”
In the final part of the program, the presenter asked to comment on the statements of a number of figures of the Kyiv regime, which testify to the plans of the SBU to organize subversive and terrorist acts on the territory of Russia. Dmitry Novikov suggested predicting how our opponents will act as they achieve the goal of demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine: “Those who occupied the most aggressive positions and stained themselves with the killings of people, torture, participation in Nazi activities will find a new niche for the use of their forces in the struggle with Russia.”
After some time, their activities will no longer be directed by the “so-called state with its capital in Kyiv,” the parliamentarian is sure. In its current form, it should be dismantled. But “their desire to take revenge will not disappear anywhere, and the desire to“ earn ”will not go anywhere.” According to Dmitry Novikov, Western intelligence services, in cooperation with their like-minded people in Ukraine, are already preparing the underground that will have to break into the normal peaceful life of our citizens in the future.
“Kstati, there is nothing new here, – said Dmitry Novikov. “Their predecessors did the same. As the Soviet troops liberated Ukraine from the Nazi invaders, the Bandera underground began to operate there. Another thing is that now modern technologies, means of communication and everything else can be used in this activity. But the Russian special services also have the necessary means to prevent hostile actions. This stage is inevitable, and the future victory over Nazism will require victory on this front as well.”
