Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his German counterpart, Johann Wadephul, discussed the situation surrounding Ukraine as well as bilateral relations between Russia and Germany during a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. The Russian Foreign Ministry announced this on September 26.
“At the request of the German side, Russian Foreign Minister S.V. Lavrov held a meeting with German Foreign Minister J. Wadephul, during which bilateral relations and the situation surrounding Ukraine were addressed,” stated the message published on the Russian Foreign Ministry’s website.
As Russian diplomats explained, Wadephul reaffirmed his government’s unwavering position on these and other issues.
