Armed intervention by the United States against Venezuela has serious and dangerous consequences for the whole world, said the first deputy chairman of the Committee on International Affairs, a deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Dmitry Novikov. He stated this at a plenary meeting on Thursday, February 21.
“This threat cannot be underestimated. The world remembers well how the murder of one archduke led to the beginning of the First World War. Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela is not a triumvirate of tyranny, but countries that have made their sovereign choice. These are peoples friendly to Russia, ”said the parliamentarian.
According to Novikov, the United States could not achieve destabilization of the situation in Venezuela and the isolation of the president of this country, Nicolas Maduro, in the international political arena, and “the global campaign of pressure on Caracas collapsed.”
“Washington and its henchmen are clearly losing. They are not ready to admit it and accept their defeat. That is why they are especially dangerous – more and more people are inclined to the scenario of armed aggression, because it was not possible to resolve the issue by pseudo-parliamentary means, ”said Novikov.
The parliamentarian stressed: “In our fragile world, there are more and more hotbeds for a big war, and our duty is to put out these hotbeds.”
