Dmitry Novikov, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs, commented on the promise of American Admiral James Foggo “not to allow” Russia and China to dominate the Arctic and control the Northern Sea Route.
“The United States has long been trying to declare the entire planet a zone of its interests,” the parliamentarian said.
The politician also stressed that Americans are interested in the Arctic territories due to economic circumstances.
“We also have an interesting project related to the Northern Sea Route, which will be developed in parallel with the One Belt, One Road project proposed by the Chinese side,” he recalled.
