Sergey Zheleznyak: “The addition of powers to Nazarbayev will not change the long-term friendship and cooperation of our countries”

Member of the Committee on International Affairs Sergey Zheleznyak:

“Russia hopes that Kazakhstan will continue to maintain and develop good neighborly relations with our country, strengthening ties between nations. I am convinced that the resignation of Nazarbayev will not change the long-term friendship and cooperation of our countries, Nursultan Abishevich is the national leader of Kazakhstan and will continue to be the main figure of the ruling NurOtan party, the Security Council and several other key political positions in the Republic. ” This opinion was expressed by a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Sergey Zheleznyak.

According to the politician: “Nursultan Nazarbayev as the head of Kazakhstan has always demonstrated political wisdom, pursuing a balanced and responsible foreign policy, developing and deepening ties with Russia and other states. Thanks to the constructive and active work of the two countries, the personal contribution of our presidents, Russia and Kazakhstan have found each other’s reliable allies in the international arena, partners in various sectors of the economy and the humanitarian sphere.

The new generation of politicians in Kazakhstan should take from the first president of Kazakhstan the vast experience of building a successful socially oriented state. This strategic direction of the country’s development is common for Russia and Kazakhstan. The possibilities of realizing human potential in their native land and raising the standard of living of each family remain the main tasks for the leadership of both countries.

Our relations can be considered an example of a harmonious, strategic partnership based on deep respect for national interests and the sovereignty of the two countries in the post-Soviet space. Russia and Kazakhstan should preserve and strengthen the ties of our fraternal peoples, not allowing external destructive forces to negatively influence relations between the two countries. ”
