Sergey Zheleznyak: “Russia did not violate the INF Treaty and offered the American side a direct dialogue to prevent an arms race”

“Mr. Stoltenberg, not without coordination with Washington, as the main sponsor of NATO, is preparing Europe to expand the Alliance’s presence in the region. The NATO leadership is crafty, following the United States accusing Russia of destroying the DDRMD and thereby covering up the previously planned increase in the military arsenal in Europe, ”says Sergei Zheleznyak, a member of the Duma’s international affairs committee.

A member of the Committee on International Affairs noted: “Who, if not NATO, knows that it is the United States that are the initiators of the termination of the INF Treaty and are already preparing to test new weapons in the near future. Russia did not violate the INF Treaty and offered a direct dialogue to the American side to prevent an arms race. But the US continues to accuse our country without any allegations, ignoring the possibility of resolving disputed issues through negotiations. At the same time, the North Atlantic Alliance is trying to maintain and expand its influence in Europe, as close as possible to the borders with Russia and drawing new members into the military bloc. We are constantly threatened by locating military bases near Russian territory, conducting military exercises in neighboring countries, demonstrating NATO’s technical and tactical capabilities. ”

“The strengthening of NATO is also aimed at deterring the attempts of EU members to create a so-called united European army that can become an alternative to NATO in Europe, and therefore threatens to lose US influence on the policies of Washington’s European partners. The American lobbyists of the military-industrial complex cannot allow this, ”the parliamentarian added.
