The President of Croatia, Colinda Grabar-Kitarovich, believes that it is necessary to cooperate with Russia, and not to isolate it. She said this in an interview with AP. “We would like to maintain a dialogue on the common threats to our security. We need to work together, “said Ms Grabar-Kitarovich.
Commenting on the meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with US President Donald Tramp, scheduled for today, on July 16, she expressed the hope that the leaders of both countries “will demonstrate a fairly responsible attitude to stability in the world and to transatlantic relations.” In the opinion of the Croatian President, the upcoming bilateral summit “can defuse international tension instead of strengthening it”.
Presidents of Russia and the United States will meet in Helsinki. At the first full-fledged bilateral summit, the leaders of the two countries will discuss the conflicts in Syria and Ukraine, disarmament issues, as well as the alleged interference of the Russian Federation in the US elections in 2016.
