Sergey Zheleznyak: “Political wars within the US negatively affect the system of international relations”

“You are to blame for the fact that I want to eat” – such a wolf principle in the Krylovsky style is guided by individual representatives of the US Senate in relation to Russia. In no other way is it possible to justify the absurd proposal of the Senator from the US Democratic Party, Bob Menendez, to impose sanctions against our country for the fact that President Tramp decided to withdraw troops from Syria. ” This was stated by a member of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs Sergey Zheleznyak.

The politician emphasized: “Political wars within the USA negatively affect the system of international relations. The growing contradictions of the political elites are splashing out and invading other countries. The situation on the northern border of Turkey and Syria was also aggravated by the fault of the United States, which invaded Syria without inviting the authorities, constantly juggling the interests of various opposing forces, supporting opposition paramilitary groups and openly flirting with terrorists, in the hope of maintaining control of the situation in the region. As a result of these clumsy maneuvers, provocations, skirmishes, mutual claims became more frequent, and all this resulted in an extremely dangerous military conflict. And now in the United States portray peacekeepers, threatening all sanctions.

No matter where the United States visits, everywhere they leave behind a similar destructive and bloody trail, pretending to have absolutely nothing to do with it and hiding behind empty slogans about peace. Washington initially should not have militarily intervened in the Syrian issue. The official Damascus of the USA did not call to itself. Obviously, the continued presence of US military forces in Syria creates complete confusion and tension.

Mr. Trump’s decision to withdraw his military can only be welcomed, but the American president is not only able to exercise the fullness of his power in this matter with such resistance from opponents in the Senate. If Russia’s approval of the desire of the US president to complete the American operation in Syria is seen as a form of influence, then this demonstrates the growth of the credibility of our countries on the world stage. And Russophobic gentlemen in the US Senate can only wish to maintain reason, without which US foreign policy could finally lose common sense. ”
