One of the possible topics of the talks between Putin and Erdogan is the Kurdish issue, State Duma deputy, member of the Foreign Affairs Committee Elena Panina wrote on her Twitter page.
“You can’t dismiss the Kurds, relying on the strength of weapons. Negotiations are needed. Otherwise, peace cannot be achieved in Syria. And for Russia it is important that the peace process in Syria becomes irreversible, ”Panina said.
The politician recalled that 40 million Kurds live in the world and the Kurdish issue is a global problem.
“To solve it, the good will of the USA and Turkey, Tehran and Damascus is needed. Moscow is in contact with everyone, has never been an enemy of the Kurds. Therefore, Russia has a chance for successful peacekeeping, ”stated Elena Panina.
The State Duma deputy also expressed hope that the rights of the Kurds will be reflected in the new constitution of Syria. This is necessary in order “so that the Kurds become a full partner of Damascus in the construction of a new country.”
