“British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, as expected, did not keep his word and Brexit will not take place on October 31. The European Union, realizing the hopelessness of the situation, made concessions, postponing the UK exit process until next year. But this is a pause, during which the Prime Minister will have serious work with the House of Commons of the Parliament. Obviously, the option of withdrawing without an agreement, which is still not completely ruled out, will lead to very serious consequences for the UK and will negatively affect the situation of citizens. ” This opinion was expressed by a member of the State Duma committee on international affairs, Sergei Zheleznyak.
The politician emphasized: “It is extremely difficult to reach a reasonable solution in the UK while maintaining the confrontation between the prime minister and parliament. The sensible part of the British Parliament understands that the option to withdraw without an agreement, which Mr. Johnson is ready for, will lead to harsh consequences for the UK and will negatively affect citizens. The Brexit procedure has become Johnson’s end in itself, and all of Johnson’s recent actions indicate that the head of the cabinet has no clear understanding of what will happen to the country after leaving the EU. “This looks like an irresponsible step of the head of the Cabinet, which, after trying to prove its rigidity and solvency, risks the future of the country.”
