Washington is trying to force the EU to “pay American bills and participate in the repayment of US public debt.” So member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Elena Panina commented on the information on the entry into force of US sanctions against the Nord Stream-2 and Turkish Stream pipelines.
“One of the forms of covering more than 23 trillion US government debt is the purchase of ultra-expensive liquefied American gas, there are others, as you know,” Panina emphasized.
“Examples of this kind of action have repeatedly met in history – the continental blockade imposed by Napoleon, or the British policy of free trade. However, in the recent historical period, economic contradictions, such as those that the United States is now facing, were resolved through military conflicts, ”Panina said.
“Today, the US is trying to force Europe to pay for its public debt and is doing this with the help of political pressure to impose conditions that are economically advantageous for them. But with gigantic volumes of public debt, it will still take years and years to close the issue in this way.
Therefore, there is the temptation of a quick denouement, and it can be ensured only by a large-scale military conflict that will write off all debts at once, ”the politician stated.
According to Panina, this is precisely the reason for the militarization of American foreign policy, the severance of international treaties that are most important for strategic security and the creation of centers of terrorism and chaos on the borders of the countries – US geopolitical opponents.
