American intelligence agencies took advantage of the unrest history near the US Embassy in Iraq and framed the country’s president Donald Trump, who did not fully understand the importance of Kassem Suleimani’s figure, said Elena Panina, a member of the State Duma’s international affairs committee.
Previously, the Pentagon confirmed that the United States conducted an operation against the head of the Quds special forces of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps Suleimani. The Shiite militia also reported that five members of the militia and two of its “guests” were killed during the operation in Baghdad. Among the dead was the militia deputy commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, whom US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo accused of assaulting the US embassy in Baghdad on December 31. The death of Suleymani was also confirmed by the leadership of Iran. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has promised to avenge his death.
Commenting on RIA Novosti the death of a famous Iranian military leader, the deputy suggested that one of the reasons for this tragic event could be a long-standing confrontation between law enforcement agencies.
According to Panina, recently this confrontation has been accompanied by a series of humiliating episodes for the United States, including the story of the “successful imitation of the destruction” by the IRGC of the Essex landing ship with the head of the US Central Command (CENTCOM) General Joseph Wotel on board. According to her, General Suleymani could be avenged for the suicide of the commander of the U.S. Fifth Fleet, Vice Admiral Stirni, who committed suicide after these events in December 2018.
“In this situation, it cannot be ruled out that the US military and special services took advantage of the riots near the US Embassy in Iraq in their corporate interests and simply set Donald Trump, who did not fully understand the significance of the figure of Kassem Suleimani, who has the status of a national hero in Iran,” stated Panin.
