Anton Morozov, a member of the State Duma’s international affairs committee, commented on RT’s consent of US leader Donald Trump to the summit of leaders of the UN Security Council’s permanent members, which Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed to organize.
“The United States has recently taken an isolationist position and is in every possible way fencing off negotiations, both in a bilateral and in a multilateral format. But the modern agenda of international relations dictates the need to solve all problems on the basis of agreements, and not with the use of military force and sanctions policy. Recent years have shown that such methods are ineffective, ”said Morozov.
According to the deputy, the fact that “common sense prevailed in Washington and they are ready to enter into constructive negotiations in the five-sided format” is encouraging.
“But so far the substantive part of the negotiations is not very clear, as well as what we will be able to agree on. Let’s hope for a constructive, ”he said.
