“The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe due to an outbreak of coronavirus may cancel the spring session in Strasbourg from April 20 to 24. Formally, a decision has not yet been made, but a warning of a possible cancellation has already been published.
If the April session does not take place, this will be quite natural against the backdrop of the pandemic announced by WHO and the need for preventive measures to prevent further spread of the virus. We will treat this with understanding. For the members of the Russian delegation – deputies and senators – on the contrary, it will be possible to stay in Russia and personally vote at polling stations on April 22 for significant changes to the Constitution.
Of the decisions that have already been taken by PACE – the cancellation of the visit to Russia by the speakers of the monitoring commission, which was to be held in late March. The reason is still the same – coronavirus.”
