“Ukrainian politicians really want to attract the attention of the West. The most familiar way is to constantly try to discuss the topic of Crimea’s affiliation. At the same time, it is very clear to most sensible and experienced politicians, to whom Mr. Schroeder certainly refers, that Crimea is with Russia forever, ”the parliamentarian said.
He emphasized: “The Ukrainian diplomat should not compete with the political heavyweight Gerhard Schroeder, who not only knows history well, Russia, but also is well versed in the laws of geopolitics. The clownish antics of the Ukrainian ambassador are unlikely to be the subject of attention of a respected German politician. As for the Crimean affiliation, we patiently continue to explain to the Ukrainian side that the decision to reunite Crimea with Russia was made by citizens in a referendum. Whether official Kiev likes it or not, this constant will remain unchanged. And Ukrainian leaders should have turned their energy into the benefit of citizens and the support of the Ukrainian economy. ”
