It’s Washington who successfully pursues a destructive policy, pitting the interests of various groups in the region and flirting with terrorists. ” This was stated by a member of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs Sergey Zheleznyak.
He emphasized: “Washington has long been preparing to maintain its influence in Syria and the Middle East as a whole, being extremely annoyed by the military and diplomatic successes of the Russian side. It is thanks to the peacekeeping efforts of Russia, together with the legitimate authorities of Syria and with the support of coalition partners, that we are able to build a process of peaceful settlement of the conflict and confront the remnants of terrorists. Russia is in favor of preserving the statehood, sovereignty and integrity of Syria, which the United States needs in the form of disparate formations for manipulation in its interests.
