In the parliamentary plane, the head of the committee added, Russia is in favor of stepping up cooperation with the states of the African continent. “The conference could be a forerunner of the October summit in Sochi,” said Slutsky.
For his part, Mr. Ambassador said that the speaker of the Egyptian parliament has already confirmed his participation in the conference and the inter-parliamentary forum and will arrive in early July with a visit to Moscow.
A Russia-Africa summit will be held in Sochi on October 24 under the co-chairmanship of the presidents of the Russian Federation and Egypt, Vladimir Putin and Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
